Junior Murvin's Police & Thieves was recorded at Lee Perry's Black Ark Studios in Kingston and first released in 1977. This is the 1980 UK Island reissue (ILPS 9499), pressed with light and dark blue labels. The title track -- produced and engineered by Perry -- was covered by The Clash on their 1977 debut, bringing it to a wider audience. Solomon and Roots Train are among the standout cuts.
