Kenny Drew's mid-1950s recordings for Aladdin/Jazz West and Pacific Jazz, collected here on a 1989 Blue Note CD reissue (CDP 7 84439 2). Tracks 1--9 were cut at Capitol Studios in December 1955; tracks 10--12, recorded just weeks earlier for Pacific Jazz, appear here for the first time outside the LP configuration. Drew's piano leads a quartet through originals alongside standards including "Prelude To A Kiss" and "It's Only A Paper Moon."
