Kokomo Arnold's Old Original Kokomo Blues searing slide guitar prewar blues, hugely influential on later players.
Kokomo Arnold was a Georgia-born bottleneck guitarist who recorded prolifically for Decca in the 1930s. His slide technique directly influenced Robert Johnson, and "Milkcow Blues" was later covered by Elvis Presley. This 1997 Catfish Records CD compiles 23 tracks from those sessions, including "The Honeydripper" and "Old Original Kokomo Blues" -- the track that gave him his name.
