Larry Johnson was a Piedmont blues guitarist from Georgia, and Fast & Funky was his debut album, recorded in 1971 for Blue Goose Records. This pressing is a reissue on the label's blue and orange labels. The set covers country blues staples including "Spoonful Blues" and "Nobody's Business If I Do", alongside Johnson's own compositions, played in his fingerpicked, ragtime-influenced style.
