Tom Cat is a Lee Morgan quintet session recorded at Van Gelder Studio on 11 August 1964, produced by Alfred Lion and originally released on Blue Note in 1981. This is a 2006 European remastered CD reissue with liner notes by Michael Cuscuna. The set features five extended hard bop tracks, with the modal title track and the brooding "Twilight Mist" among the standouts.
