Leon Ware is best known for writing and co-producing Marvin Gaye's I Want You (1976). This 1991 UK 12" on Expansion pairs two Ware originals in a smooth acid jazz setting. "Shoulda Been You" and "Heartbeat" were produced by Ware himself for Leon Ware Productions, showcasing the same melodic sensibility that defined his earlier work, updated for the early-90s dancefloor.
