The Roots Of Lightnin' Hopkins was first issued on Verve Folkways (FV/FVS-9000) before this 1968 Folkways reissue (FTS 31011). Solo acoustic Texas Blues from Hopkins, including "Penitentiary Blues," "Bad Luck And Trouble," and "Reminiscences Of Blind Lemon" -- a direct tribute to Blind Lemon Jefferson, his early mentor. Audio is electronically re-channeled for stereo.
