Lou Donaldson's Lush Life was recorded at Van Gelder Studio in January 1967 but sat unreleased until 1980, when Blue Note issued it in Japan as Sweet Slumber. This 2007 EU remaster -- overseen by reissue producer Michael Cuscuna from 24-bit transfers -- marks its wider release. Duke Pearson arranged the session, which features Donaldson's alto over a set of standards including Stardust and It Might As Well Be Spring.
