Produced by Vandross and Marcus Miller, it features backing vocals from Martha Wash and Lisa Fischer, and saxophone from Kirk Whalum. The title track reached the UK Top 10. Closing track "I Who Have Nothing" is a cover of the Ben E. King standard, stretching to over seven minutes.
