Bass Desires is the debut album as leader from American bassist Marc Johnson, recorded in May 1985 at Power Station, New York and released on ECM in 1986. The quartet features Bill Frisell and John Scofield on guitars alongside Joey Baron on drums. This is an original West German pressing (ECM 1299). The traditional "Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair" appears alongside originals from Johnson, Frisell, and Scofield.
