Recorded in Woodstock in March 2008 and released on ECM in 2010, this duo album pairs pianist Marilyn Crispell with musician and philosopher David Rothenberg, whose writing on nature and birdsong shapes the record's themes. Track 10 is dedicated to microtonal jazz pioneer Joe Maneri. The album title is drawn from a work by Austrian novelist Peter Handke.
