Time For Tyner was recorded in May 1968 and released on Blue Note (BST 84307), produced by Duke Pearson -- though this 1986 French reissue erroneously credits Alfred Lion on the label. Tyner leads a modal post-bop session across six tracks, opening with the extended "African Village" at over twelve minutes. Standards including "The Surrey With The Fringe On Top" and "I've Grown Accustomed To Her Face" round out the set.
