Mel & Tim -- cousins Mel Hardin and Tim McPherson -- debuted on Gene Chandler's Bamboo label with this 1969 single. Chandler co-produced alongside Karl Tarleton, with Sonny Sanders on arrangements. The A-side later appeared on their 1972 Stax LP. An original US styrene pressing on Bamboo, a Chicago indie that ran only a few years before the duo moved to Stax.
