Memphis Minnie recorded prolifically from the late 1920s through the 1940s, helping shape Chicago blues with a guitar style that influenced generations. This 1995 French Frémeaux & Associés compilation spans 1927 to 1944, covering 18 mono tracks including "Bumble Bee," "Me And My Chauffeur," and "In My Girlish Days" -- songs later sampled and covered by artists from Led Zeppelin to Lucinda Williams.
