Midnight Star's "Hot Spot" is a 1982 funk 12" on Solar Records, drawn from their album Victory. The A-side runs over seven minutes and sits firmly in the electro-funk style the group developed under Dick Griffey's executive production. The flip pulls "I Won't Be Lonely" from the earlier 1981 LP Standing Together, making this a useful two-album sampler on a single slab of wax.
