Compilation drawing from Miles Davis's mid-to-late 1950s Columbia sessions, capturing his working band with John Coltrane at its centre. Tracks include "Bye Bye Blackbird" and Thelonious Monk's "Straight, No Chaser" and "Ah-Leu-Cha." Produced originally by George Avakian and Teo Macero, with Macero overseeing the digital remaster. A late 1990s--early 2000s US Columbia reissue, catalogue CJ 44052.
