Recorded live at the Plugged Nickel in Chicago across two nights in December 1965, this CD compiles previously unreleased material from the same sessions as the 1976 Columbia double LP. The second quintet -- Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter, and Tony Williams -- are captured in extended form, with "Walkin'" running nearly 15 minutes. Produced and digitally remixed by Teo Macero for this 1987 CBS Netherlands release.
