Filles De Kilimanjaro was recorded in June and September 1968, bridging the electric turn Miles Davis took between Nefertiti and In A Silent Way. The rhythm section shifts mid-album -- Herbie Hancock and Ron Carter replaced by Chick Corea and Dave Holland -- making it a transitional recording in real time. This is a 1982 CBS reissue pressed in Holland. "Mademoiselle Mabry" was written for then-wife Betty Mabry.
