'Round About Midnight is Miles Davis's debut album for Columbia, recorded 1955--56 with his first great quintet featuring John Coltrane, Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. This 2001 Legacy reissue, mastered with 24-bit Super Bit Mapping at Sony Music Studios NYC, adds tracks not on the original CL 949 LP, including "Little Melonae" and "Two Bass Hit."
