Product Review:
Mississippi John Hurt's 1928 Sessions — gentle, melodic fingerpicked blues from a hugely influential Delta artist.

Recorded in Memphis and New York in 1928, these 13 sides are Mississippi John Hurt's complete debut recordings for OKeh Records. Hurt was 35, relatively unknown, and largely forgotten until rediscovered in 1963. Stack O' Lee Blues and Spike Driver Blues became templates for folk-blues revival artists. This Yazoo CD compiles the full session, produced by Nick Perls, one of the key figures in preserving prewar blues recordings.

Expert, honest grading

Used records and CDs are graded when we catalogue them for sale and again before they are sent out. So they should reach you in the condition you expect.

Every used record and CD pro-cleaned

We clean our used vinyl records using a VPI vacuum cleaner. More expensive records are also cleaned ultrasonically. CDs are cleaned gently by hand.

Re-sleeving

We place each used record in a brand new paper or anti-static audiophile inner sleeve. We then place the record and sleeve (separately) into a brand new outer sleeve. Ready to be enjoyed!
