Mtume's "Juicy Fruit" arrived in 1983 on Epic, written and produced by James Mtume. The track became a cornerstone of New York boogie-funk and is among the most sampled records in hip-hop -- Notorious B.I.G.'s "Juicy" being the most famous use. This UK 12" pressing on Epic (TA 3424) includes the vocal version and the extended "Fruity" instrumental mix on the flip.
