Otis Spann's Cryin' Time was recorded in Chicago in March 1968, produced by Samuel Charters for Vanguard. One of Muddy Waters' longtime pianists, Spann leads these ten cuts as a frontman, backed by a small Chicago blues group. This 2005 Vanguard reissue (VMD 6514) keeps the original catalogue number. Highlights include Blues Is A Botheration and the slow-burning Green Flowers.
