PainKiller's Buried Secrets -- John Zorn, Bill Laswell and Mick Harris making improvised noise and grindcore hybrids. Plays fine despite the some surface marks. Spider broken.

PainKiller is the trio of John Zorn, Bill Laswell, and Mick Harris, formed in 1991. Buried Secrets, released on Earache in 1992 (MOSH 62CD), is their second album, recorded August and October 1991. It pulls free jazz improvisation into grindcore territory -- Zorn on saxophone, Laswell on bass, Harris on drums. Standout tracks include the seven-minute "The Toll" and dub-inflected "Blackhole Dub."
