Released on Bluebird in 1985, Rain Forest / Forest Fire is an early UK 12" from Paul Hardcastle, predating his breakthrough "19" by just months. The A-side builds around synth textures and electronic percussion, while the seven-minute Forest Fire on the flip gives the production room to develop. Hardcastle's work from this period drew attention from hip-hop producers on both sides of the Atlantic.
