Pee Wee Crayton was a Texas-born West Coast blues guitarist whose sharp, T-Bone Walker-influenced style made him a fixture on the late 1940s R&B circuit. This UK Ace 10" compiles his Modern Records sessions from 1949--1952, including "Poppa Stoppa" and "Guitar Boogie." Pressed in mono, it captures Crayton at his most direct -- tight band arrangements, stinging single-note lines, and a raw electric blues feel.
