Pinetop Perkins' Boogie Woogie rolling piano blues from a Muddy Waters band veteran.

Pinetop Perkins recorded this album for Antone's Records in Austin, Texas in 1992, produced by guitarist Derek O'Brien. A Mississippi-born pianist who played with Muddy Waters throughout the 1970s, Perkins draws here from boogie woogie and Chicago blues traditions. Highlights include the title track, "Caldonia", and "Going Down Slow", with "Kidney Stew" -- a signature associated with Eddie Vinson -- opening the set.
