Dread Beat An' Blood is the debut album by Linton Kwesi Johnson, released under the Poet And The Roots alias in 1978 on Virgin's Front Line imprint. A founding text of dub poetry, Johnson sets his Jamaican-British political verse -- addressing racism, police brutality, and the George Lindo case -- over reggae and dub arrangements. This original UK pressing has a Porky lacquer cut credit on side B.
