The Cry! is a 1963 album by the Prince Lasha Quintet featuring Sonny Simmons, recorded in Los Angeles for Lester Koenig's Contemporary Records label. A modal and free jazz session built around Lasha's flute and Simmons' alto, it sits among the more adventurous releases in the Contemporary catalogue. Pretty badass! This is a 2024 reissue on Craft Recordings with etched runouts.
