Prince's The Black Album was recorded in 1987 but withdrawn days before release. Warner Bros. finally issued it officially in 1994 after bootlegs had circulated for years. This US pressing carries catalogue number 1-45793. The record spans hard funk, bedroom soul, and rap-adjacent grooves across eight tracks, including "Bob George" and "Rockhard In A Funky Place." "When 2 R In Love" predates this release, appearing on Lovesexy in 1988.
