"Uptown" was the lead single from Prince's third album *Dirty Mind*, released on Warner Bros. in 1980. A funk-driven track built around a descending bass riff, it introduced the Minneapolis sound and themes Prince would develop across the decade. The B-side is "Crazy You" from his 1979 debut *For You*. This is a US original Capitol Winchester pressing on WBS 49559.
