Ralph MacDonald -- the session percussionist behind countless soul and funk recordings -- released The Path in 1978 on Marlin, a TK Productions subsidiary. Produced with William Eaton and William Salter, it blends jazz-funk, Latin, and Caribbean rhythms. The 17-minute title track dominates the A-side. This is a Terre Haute Columbia pressing, identifiable by the large "T" etched in the runout.
