Ray Barretto's *Acid* was recorded in 1968 for Fania Records, capturing the conga master at the peak of the boogaloo-to-Latin soul crossover. The title track and "A Deeper Shade Of Soul" became dancefloor staples, while "Espiritu Libre" stretches across eight minutes of percussion-driven Latin jazz. This is a later Fania reissue, identifiable by Rainbo pressing plant S-numbers in the runouts.
