Robert Lee McCoy -- later known as Robert Nighthawk -- recorded these 25 sides for Bluebird between 1937 and 1940, sessions that captured his slide guitar style before he refined it into the sound that influenced Muddy Waters and Earl Hooker. This 2000 Catfish Records compilation collects his complete Bluebird output, including "Prowling Night-Hawk" and "Friars Point Blues."
