Recorded in Guadeloupe in April 1998 at Henri Debs' La Terreur studio in Pointe-à-Pitre, Grande-Terre brings together Hargrove's Crisol project -- his Cuban jazz ensemble -- for a session rooted in Afro-Cuban rhythms and post-bop. Originally unreleased, this is the first official release, issued by Verve in 2024 as a double LP. Standout cuts include "Rumba Roy" and "Afreaka."
