Shakatak's "Night Birds" reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart in 1982, becoming the London jazz-funk group's biggest hit. This is the original UK 12" pressing on Polydor, produced by Nigel Wright and written by keyboardist Bill Sharpe. The extended version gives the groove room to breathe. B-side "Rio Nights" keeps the Latin-tinged jazzdance feel going.
