This Is The Real Thing is the debut album by Skool Boyz, released in 1985 on Columbia (BFC 40045). Self-produced and arranged by the group, with Wayne Edwards as executive producer, it sits firmly in the mid-80s boogie and funk bracket. The title track and "Superfine (From Behind)" are the standout cuts, built on tight rhythms and smooth vocal arrangements typical of the era's CBS roster.
