Skyy were a New York funk and soul group who broke through in 1979 on Salsoul Records. This UK 12" single pairs "High" with a remix of "First Time Around", both drawn from their debut album. "First Time Around" was later sampled extensively in hip-hop. The Salsoul release keeps the group in their natural home -- a label synonymous with disco and dance floor production from that era.
