Hot Blues collects sessions recorded in February 1960 in Scotslandville, Louisiana, capturing guitarist and vocalist Robert Brown -- known as Smoky Babe -- in raw Delta and harmonica blues form. Originally issued on Folklyric LP 118 in 1971 and produced by Chris Strachwitz and Harry Oster, this is a 2019 Arhoolie reissue. Highlights include "Rabbit Blues" and "Black Ghost."
