Spoonie Gee's "Spoonin Rap" was originally released in 1979 on Sound Of New York, USA -- one of the earliest hip-hop 12-inches, produced by Peter Brown and arranged by Frank Stack. This 2002 repress splits the track across two sides. The bassline was later sampled by Eric B. & Rakim on "I Know You Got Soul" (1987).
