Surface Noise was a UK studio project active around 1980, releasing on WEA. The Scratch is a jazz-funk 12" single written and produced by Chris Palmer, built around a tight, percussive groove. The A-side is fully instrumental; the B-side long version adds vocal stabs and scat. This is an original UK pressing on WEA (K 18291 T), manufactured in the UK under EMI Music Publishing.
