Ted Hawkins was a Venice Beach busker whose raw, unaccompanied recordings for Rounder and Christle caught cult attention through the 1980s. This 1987 UK 12" on Windows On The World -- pressed in France -- features three Hawkins originals produced by Bruce Bromberg and Dennis Walker, the duo behind his Rounder albums. "Bad Dog" and "Sorry You're Sick" show his blend of Sam Cooke-influenced soul with stark acoustic folk.
