The Blackbyrds' 1974 debut on Fantasy Records introduced the jazz-funk group assembled by mentor Donald Byrd from Howard University students. This BGP/Ace UK reissue (catalogue BGPD 1105) is Direct Metal Mastered from the original Fantasy tapes. "Do It Fluid" became the group's breakthrough single, and "Funky Junkie" remains a key track for fans of the group's hard-edged jazz-funk.
