The Blackbyrds were a Washington D.C. funk group assembled by trumpeter Donald Byrd from students at Howard University. "Time Is Movin'" appeared on their 1976 album *Action*, produced by Byrd. This is the UK Fantasy promo 7", pressed in 1977 on FTC 141. The track has been widely sampled in hip-hop. The B-side is "Lady".
