Congregation were a British studio group assembled by producer John Burgess, who scored a UK top five hit with this 1971 Columbia single. "Softly Whispering I Love You" is a cover of the Paul Young hit -- though here predating his version by over a decade, drawing from the original El Coco composition. This is the original UK mono pressing on Columbia DB 8830.
