The Curtis Counce Group's self-titled debut LP was recorded in 1956 and released on Contemporary Records in 1957, featuring the Los Angeles-based bassist leading a hard bop quintet with tenor saxophonist Harold Land and pianist Carl Perkins. This is the 1958 UK pressing on Vogue yellow labels (Contemporary LAC.12073), produced by Lester Koenig.
