The Equals were a multiracial London beat group featuring Eddy Grant, active from 1965. This 1967 President Records single (PT 135) pairs "Hold Me Closer" with "Baby Come Back," the latter reaching number one in the UK in 1968 after a second release. This copy is the four-point knockout centre pressing, one of three centre variants issued on the original run.
