Detroit soul group The Floaters released "Float On" in 1977 on ABC Records, reaching number one in the UK. This is the original UK 7" pressing on ABC (cat. no. ABC 4187), produced by Woody Wilson. The A-side became the group's biggest hit, built around each member introducing themselves by star sign over a slow, lush groove -- a format that connected immediately with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic.
