The Floaters' self-titled debut on ABC Records (1977) is built around "Float On," an eleven-minute Detroit soul slow jam that reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100. Produced by James Mitchell with Dennis Coffey on guitar, the album was recorded at PAC 3 in Detroit. The cover version of "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" sits alongside original material across eight tracks.
