George Shearing's "locked hands" piano style -- voicing melody and chords together -- made him one of the most distinctive pianists of the early 1950s. This MGM release collects eight tracks across two 7" discs, including his recording of "Tenderly," which became closely associated with Shearing, alongside jazz standards "Summertime" and "East Of The Sun (And West Of The Moon)." The MGM catalogue number X55 suggests an early 1950s US pressing.
