Lord Shafiyq's 1987 debut 12" on Nuwr Records, produced by David Sanchez and Rodney Lundy, pressed in an edition of 2000 copies. Two tracks -- "My Mic Is On Fire" and "Kool Kat" -- with instrumental versions unlisted on the label. Conscious boom bap from the New York underground, with Shafiyq's delivery anticipating the Afrocentric rap wave that would follow in the late 80s.
